Klyde Warren Park’s “Party in the Park”

Beloved Dallas Park’s Annual Fundraiser

While at Ellis Hill, I was able to work with the park’s events team to design the literature and signage for Dallas-based fundraiser “Party in the Park” in the Fall of 2025.

The massive event had over 1,000 people in attendance and raised over 1.1 million dollars to support free community programs and the park’s maintenance.

I was able to help create the physical and digital invitations, as well as day-of signage and execute the team’s designs for the large-scale installations like the sponsor wall and bar decals

Fold-Over Invitations

The 2025 Party in the Park theme focused on a laid-back and groovy 1970s disco style. I was provided with the copy and event logo to use for the invitations, and was able to create a 5×7 double sided- fold over to send out to invitees that captured all necessary information in a fun and playful aesthetic.

For the cover, I went with an abstract minimalist rendition of the park’s architecture to be recognizable but unique to the fundraiser’s theme.

Utilizing Adobe’s Graphic Generation Capabilities

Given the time constraints and of this project, I was able to use Adobe Illustrator’s “Image Trace” graphic creation tools to get a base vector graphic to be used on the invitation’s cover.

I supplied the engine with a photograph of Klyde Warren Park’s iconic arch walkway, and used the image trace tool to create a silhouette line drawing of the park that I could manipulate to fit the 70s disco aesthetic that the client desired.

The text, disco balls and twinkles were added at the end once the foundational art was in place for the background.

I also created a non-physical material to be used to promote the event. The PDF to the right was made for emails and digital marketing purposes.

This was created by re-organizing the double sided invitations layout to make sure the information was all included and flowed more consistently for the audience that would be viewing the material digitally.
